Heart2Heart ep1: Hatin' via Net ;)

Ever realized how technology, specifically the internet made it so easy for us to throw in a hurtful word towards another? I for instance am guilty of this..and I know for sure that all of us are. If you have no idea what I'm talking about then you're one big HYPOCRITE! so let me give you a clue... STATUS MESSAGES. Take this...ok MINE for example.

Don't get me wrong..I'm not trying to be a Saint here or something. Truth is, I don't condone this. Why should I? Free vent out! When you're pissed at someone the best thing to do is to let it off your chest. But a confrontation would be cumbersome, so we resort to "Status Messages". May it be on YM, Facebook, Twitter, etc...don't give out a name or the obvious and voila! Instant remedy:D But have you ever thought of the effects on us personally if we get used to this?? We end up not resolving anything. Sure we could let it pass sooner or later but the impression you have made towards that person will be there forever. I never confronted the guy in my stat and probably never will. I don't hate him. I would forget him if I didn't see him in 5yrs but it IS a small world. If I see him by chance. I would immediately think "oh, that was the guy who irritated me so much.....5yrs ago."

Today on the Tube: Paranormal Activity 2

This made me poop my pants a little..................

kidding! actually I have quite high standards for horror movies. Growing up, my mom wouldn't let us watch horror movies so college (yes, not even highschool) was freedom. I started hardcore...Ringu (still the best for me). Good scare became so addictive that I watched every Asian horror flick (western, and even Flip horror just sucks!..specially during those days) until I became used to it.

So talk about the Paranormal Activity. Did you see the first installment?? I didn't like it. There is one good scene--the one where the girl got dragged by the foot-- and that's it! the rest..B-O-R-I-N-G! oh! there's this another scene where they find the girl's picture when she was little at the attic, I liked that one too. It's not scary but I think it's powerful..i don't know.

So here comes the 2nd installment, just merely a year after the release of the first one. Really good trailer..AYLAVET! But then again, Paranormal Activity 1 had good trailer too.

I think I'll give this movie a shot..hehe.....

....i'm sorry, what was that??? what Eclipse???

New Pres New Start???

So today was a very important day for the Philippines as the new President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III was inaugurated. Well..I did not vote for this guy but I don't want to be a sourpuss as of the moment. For a change, I want to be positive this time like the rest of the Filipino people who believe he really can change our long time corrupted and abused nation. The speech was very good actually but I'm not in the mood to IMO on some points that somehow made impact to me. So..there, this is actually a very short post. I would just like to ask everyone to pray for the new administration and may God bless the Philippines:)

Here's a short vid of what transpired this morning of his inauguration.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.- 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Girl Who Played With Fire

OK, I will try to make this review as short as I can because its almost 1am already and church's early tom, ahihi. As you know this is the sequel to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Swedish author Stieg Larsson. Oh, before I proceed I really advise you read my review on TGwtDT first found here. Just like the first book it also deals with women abuse and this time it is thru prostitution. I wouldn't go into details and will go ahead to the 'IMO' part.

This book is a little thinner than the previous one. And I think that this time the author for some reason cuts down on 'too much detailing'...I'm not sure...maybe I just got used to it..so anyways, I can say that I like this book better because this time it focuses more on Lisbeth (luvs her :D). Plus it also gave us a glimpse of her background...before the 'mentally psychopath' childhood. I also like that she didn't relied on Mikael that much..Girl Power YAHA!!

If I continue I'll just probably spoil everything for you. Sorry this review is really crappy, but I highly recommend this series :) I can't wait to read the last one :)

Have you read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trilogy?? What do you think of it??

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Its been a while since i've read a mystery novel that i actually liked :) The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo is a suspense thriller with Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist as the main characters. Both are investigative journalists with opposite style and life style. Lisbeth is a peculiar girl and a world class hacker while Mikael is a controversial journalist and part owner of an investigative magazine called Millennium. The 1st half of the book discusses about these 2 characters separately until the a case involving the family of a steel magnate, the Vanger Family, brought them together.

The copy that i have, a paperback from Vintage Crime publishing -- the one in the picture-- did not contain a summary so you really have to let the book grow in you to appreciate it. The book is quite long, the letters are small. Each chapter is appox 20pages long and most of the pages are dedicated to sooo much detailing...what the room looks like, how the vase on the table is positioned and other stuff not really relevant to the scene. but maybe its just me. I know some of you actually prefer books like that, where the author writes as if you are WATCHING it instead of reading...i don't know, i'm just not into those stuff (Booyah! for thin books with big letters HAHA!). Also the book is quite graphic and there's homosexuality and old dudes having sex. If you're not in to those stuff like I am, well, JUST READ THRU IT. its not too much and they aren't a vital part of the story. I guess those were just included naturally because TGwtDT is actually a European book. Its from Sweden and the book is such a success that they already made a movie version of it. So overall it is an excellent book and it's my current favorite thriller novel. A highly recommended book if you're a fan of crime novels. By the way, you might find it odd that the book is titled "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" when it doesn't have much relevance in the story. I almost rated it 2 stars just because of that until i learned that its actually a trilogy..Yay! i'm almost halfway thru the second book and I finally understood why its titled that way which i will reveal after i'm done with the 3rd and last book and i'm sooooo excited :)

This is a repost from my other blog. I just thought it would be nice to post this first before posting a review on its second book as mentioned in my previous post http://itsallmooncake.blogspot.com/2010/05/whats-been-mooncake-up-to.html ;)
