Sonya's Garden II - FOOD!!!!

As promised, here, I'll be writing about the Yumminess there is at Sonya's Garden. Note that the Breakfast & Dinner are set menus included in the Bed & Breakfast package so there will be no individual prices for each menu. Also, the set menus are 'eat all you can' so if you finished a dish you could always ask for more serving. Talk about major pigging out, lol ^_^

Note: Everything is organic and homegrown (except for meat which I'm guessing are fed with organic feeds as well)

Breakfast
Mango Enselada - Filipinos are used to eat mango enselada with green mangoes. This one is ripe, has tomato and herbs :)

Daing na Bangus - let the belly fats talk to you, lol :P

Adobong Baboy - I think I know the secret of this adobo. It has bony parts of chicken plus liver NOT as the main ingredient but for flavoring.

Egg Omelet - mushroom, white onions and cheese filling

Mangoes & Melon - lucky me, boyfie hates ripe mangoes...weird :P

I forgot to take pictures but they also serve a very yummy chocolate drink ^_^

Dinner
Dalandan Juice

Make your own Salad. Here you're served with: Lettuce, Singkamas, Jack fruit, Pineapple, Almonds??? and Honey Mustard dressing.

Bread from their very own 'Panaderia' or bakery and here you have choices of; pesto, anchovies, kesong puti,

Make your own pasta. Spaghetti pasta, sun dried tomatoes, fried salmon, cream chicken--I'm not sure if that's what it's called but it's the white stuff over there--, Olives and Shiitake Mushrooms.

Tarragon Tea

We also bought some stuff from their Panaderia to take home..

Chili Bread -Php120 Not chili at all..just a little hint of chili flavor.

Chili Sampaloc - Php60

Cheese Hopia - Php100 My favotite ^_^. It's like hopia bread with cheese mixture and without filling

Hispanis Bread - Php60. The bread is good nothing special with the filling though.

That's all. Hope I got you hungry HAR HAR!

Sonya's Garden

Last weekend my boyfriend and I had Bed & Breakfast at Sonya's Garden for our post 63rd monthsary and pre Valentine's day celebration. This is like one of our favorite place ever. It's just beautiful and pleasant there and most of all THE FOOD IS TERRIFIC!!!! For this post let me just flood you with pixies from the place...

Nighttime....

We availed the Sonya's Sensuous Spa (best to do after a sumptuous dinner, which we did ^_^). Pretty pricey but it's good, not the best I had though (Nurture Spa is better. Let me know if you want me a blog post on it) Here's some ninja shots of the place ;-)...

Even this tea is delicious :) I also like that they provide envelopes for tips. I alway's feel awkward handing tips...not sure why? is because I'm cheap??perhaps...:P

More pics outside...
would be great if we had descent (mushy ^_^) shot here. Too bad we just had our handy dandy digicam with no tripod with us...

you just have to have a shot in this cozy garden chairs......

Here's some pics from the room..we stayed at Chamomile cottage...

this is like the "porch" of the room. There's a small fridge inside that small cabinet over there and loads of instant coffee and an electic kettle on top..

there are books EVERYWHERE. Just right because if you're here, you'll have this urge to grab a book and read. That's just how relaxing this place is...trust me:)

pretty vanity with free cotton balls. For those who can't skip their daily/nightly beauty regimen ^_^

window. I just love reading here ^_^

Morning shots....

A HIGHLY recommended place for couples, family, friends because the rooms are designed for groups. As you see in the pictures, our room had 2 king size beds and there's also another bedding that can accomodate 1/2 people. Next post will be about Sonya's Garden's food!! Believe me, you'll love to see that one :)

Sonya's Garden is located at:

Barangay Buck Estate, Alfonso, Cavite, Philippines (near the vicinity of Tagaytay City, Philippines)

And you could contact them at these numbers:

For reservations: call or text +63-9175329097 or +63-9175335140
Email at: info@sonyasgarden.com

And here's how to get there via commute (coming from Manila area):

- Ride the LRT1/MRT and get off at EDSA/Taft Ave station or whatever as long as you get to Pasay Rotonda area
- When you see "Chowking" (at the opposite side of the Metropoint mall) there's a small way there which you'll notice because bus and jeepneys enter and exit from there
- Ride the bus going to "Nasugbu" and tell the "kundoktor" (the one who collects fare fees) youre going to "Bgy Buck Estate"...not "Alfonso Cavite" they have different rates. Fare fee for Bgy Buck Estate is Php96 ($2).
- You'll get off on a street with tricycle terminal. Ride one and say youre going to Sonya's Garden. Fare is Php24 . That's it :)

Valentine's Day 2011

Honestly, for me it's not really a big deal. And I don't give crap to "make everyday Valentine's Day" thing..not because I have ice for heart it's just that I prefer the "out of no where Valentine's Day"..get it??? But since it's like a 'tradition' plus..we would never pass on a VALID reason to skip our diet plan, my boyfriend and I celebrated Valentines the typical way....sorta...

First the gifts: The classic Red Roses :P

OK, this is not the best boquet of flowers he had given me but it touches me equally because these past few weeks has been his BUSIEST and yet he did make time to buy me one.

Royce Chocolate - Champagne

You can never go wrong with Royce Nama Chocs...YUMMYNESS!!! nuf said...

and what do we know, I even got a Valentines cake(slice) from my brother...

Mango Yogurt Cake

Tol, I'm really sorry I can't finish this... I don't eat yogurt (weird because I love yogurt drinks) :(

Oh, and we (boyfie&I) had dinner at Top of the Citi....

....will do review in a bit ;)

So that's it, that's my Valentine's Day.....nothing unusual :) So how was yours???

Latest PigOut: Bonchon Chicken + Caramia

Another food blog! yipee!! but before I start I just got my passport renewed today. Spent 2-3 hours there but its (the system) is not that bad...really:) Moving on..I would like to share my LATEST addiction... BON CHON CHICKEN!

**Quickie: Bon Chon Chicken is a korean fast food that is quite known in the US. They just recently opened here in Manila late last year I think...

Bulgogi Rice

Served with kimchi (or more like spiced coleslaw...which works for me though ^_^ ). Hehe, I was late so boyfie went ahead, ordered then ate (poor baby, must be really hungry from waiting :-( )..hence the half portion ^_^

Chicken Wings - Php 185

DUN DUHDUN!!! *drum roll*...And this baby is what we came for...THE BON CHON CHICKEN! SOOOO FREAKIN' DELISH!! I mean, if there are fried chicken in heaven it would probably taste like this, LOL =D BTW. there are different parts available too. Legs and chops -- probably the breast part which I hate..Boo white meat, LOL :P-- and this one's in 'Soy Garlic'. There's also the spicy one...as in hellish S-P-I-C-Y . Better think again before oredering that one.For the record, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! :p

French Fries - Php45

Nothing out of the ordinary...plain and salted... which is perfect because the CHICKEN is the star of this meal ^_^

"You can meet the Secret" -- i don't get it :(

Bulgogi Wrap - Php125

WTF! You just ate the rice version...Yes we did! so what, we're pigs!! LOL. Yes, it is the same meat but you have the tortilla wrap instead of rice plus the kimchi is also stuffed in there which makes this oh-so-yummeh! I like this better than the rice :)

There are Bon Chons on Ayala Triangle Garden, Libis and Greenbelt. This is the one in Ayala..

so many Bon Chon hungry people.........as usual :)

And of course you got to top a great dinner with great dessert as well. So before boyfie and I call it a night we grab some ice cream or 'gellatos' rather at CARA MIA GELATERIA.

CIOCCOLATO Lite - Php70

Just dark chocolate :) that's why it's 'Lite'...no milk :P

Sans Rival - Php70
This one's good too :) I forgot how much for the sugar cone cup. I didn't care because I don't like it anyways :P

**Quickie: Although this is like the dessert section of the restaurant 'AMICI' I believe you can still find a "stand alone" CARA MIA. I found one at Robinson's Place Manila

Urban Decay Hall of Fame

yey! another Superficial Post :) Actually, I have a 'love and hate' relationship with make-up. There are times I like them there are times I don't..just like now. However, when I was crazy over them(last summer I think...probably because I was so insecure of my chicken pox scars) I randomly took pictures of my makeups to review but for some reason, never got to. So now I am doing it finally and I'm glad that I'm "featuring" my first ever high-end makeup...The Urban Decay Hall of Fame ^_^

From the name of this set says, it is a collection of Urban Decay's famous make-ups. Set includes:
  • Primer Potion - XL
  • 24/7 Glide on Pencil in ZERO - travel size
  • Midnight Cowboy Lipstick - travel size
  • Skyscraper Mascara - travel size
  • Pocket Rocket Lipgloss in Timothy - travel size
(Eyeshadow) Primer Potion

Honestly... I have no idea about the other products, this is all I care about, LOL. This is such a popular product that I really don't feel the need to review it, HAHA.. but, whatdaheck...Product works great on me...Excellent Packaging...Love it....done! :P

24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencils in Zero

What can I say...it does glide-on smoothly. Love this eyeliner. Given the budget, I would repurchase the regular size of this in a heartbeat ;-)

Midnight Cowboy Lipstick

Now this, I'm not a fan of. It's like a frosty nude color, but when applied, its more like a lipgloss than a lipstick :-( Love the packaging though ^_^

Skyscraper Mascara

What I love about this product (aside from the packaging...again) is the applicator. Short bristles that I find perfect for lower eyelashes :)

and lastly..

Pocket Rocket in Timothy

Really THICK..smells a lot like a little burnt caramel (but doesn't taste like one..in fact, this have no taste at all)...brush applicator which I like. Umm, the color's OK, just normal pink (it would be awesome if this was Kirk). Packaging??? nah...I'm not fan of naked guys so...nope :P

Well that's not really helpful...oh well :P
